Holmdel Park is one of Monmouth County's most popular locations for active recreation and nature appreciation. Acquired by the Park System in 1962, just shy of one million visitors enjoy this 565 acre site yearly. This park features Historic Longstreet Farm, the David C. Shaw Arboretum , fishing, picnic areas, 4 tennis courts, 2 playgrounds, ice skating, sledding and 10 miles of trails - including a 1/2 mile paved loop linking the Pond View and Forest Edge areas of the park with group picnic faciliites and playgrounds.

When there is 2 or more inches of snow on the ground, Holmdel Park is the place to go for sledding fun. Ice Skating is allowed when the ice is more than 5 inches thick. For the most updated info on current conditions, contact the park office at (732) 946-9562.

MTV's Jersey Shore has been a constant source of amusement
Its seems that casual TV viewers and large corporations handle Schadenfreude very differently. While MTV's Jersey Shore has been a constant source of amusement for at least one Engadget editor, TMZ (our other favorite tech site) reports that Dell has joined a growing list of advertisers that are backing away from the reality series. In fact, a company spokesman (with a less jaded view of humanity than us) has gone on record stating that Dell doesn't "condone or support ethnic bashing in any form." And neither do we, of course -- but we do love a good laugh. Jenni "Jwoww" Farley is unavailable for comment.

BREAKING NEWS Brazil's chief justice has ordered that Sean Goldman be handed over to his father
Brazil's chief justice has ordered that Sean Goldman be handed over to his father, David, who has been fighting for custody since his now-dead wife fled the United States with his son in 2004.
Chief Justice Gilmar Mendes lifted a stay on a lower court's order last week that Sean be returned to his father, who lives in Tinton Falls, N.J.
The boy's Brazilian grandparents and step-father might possibly appeal, but lawyers said their chances of success appear slight, the Associated Press said.
Sean, now 9, was taken to Brazil by his mother, Bruna Bianchi, who divorced Goldman and remarried. In 2008 she died giving birth to a daughter.
The case has affected diplomatic ties between Brazil and the U.S., and has been discussed by President Barack Obama and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Last week, a U.S. senator reacted to the case by blocking renewal of a $2.75 billion trade deal that would lift U.S. tariffs on some Brazilian goods.

Spring lake mess
After walking thru the sand on the Spring Lake boardwalk for the last 2 MONTHS one has to ask Why Spring Lake NJ does nt have a snow / sand fence they way Belmar NJ does ... and why are my county tax dollars going to be wasted on cleaning Ocean Ave. in Spring Lake every time their is a storm this winter because of their (dont give dam what the hell happens on the beach from in the off season )attitude ... or maybe it is a way for the public service workers to just milk more money thru overtime
any thoughts or reason why they cant follow the fine example of Mayor Pringle in Belmar and keep the sand where we need it ..on the beach
