SALTWATER Inshore Fishing

SALTWATER Inshore Fishing

Capt. Butch Egerter of the Dauntless reported his recent trips have been dominated by ling, tog and cod. Weather problems, though, have limited his sailing time this past week.

Capt. Jim Eliot of the Miss Belmar Princess said the boat is done with its stripers bass fishing for the year and will start sailing for mackerel this weekend. Another boat captain, Chris Heuth of the Mohawk, said the bottom fishing has been good. Heuth said tog fishing has been good this month, so much so that the last two trips left the dock early with a full compliment of anglers, and Tuesday's trip had an 11-pound pool fish.
